Love in LA just got a whole lot hotter!
One woman. Three men. Some things are best kept secret.
“Hands down the best reverse harem I’ve ever read!” Goodreads Reviewer M. Simmons
When Creslyn Knight auditions for the role of a life time, she never expects three things:
1. To know the casting director—intimately.
2. To be insanely attracted to the three stand-in actors at the audition.
3. That she’d soon be putting her morals to the test when her resolve weakens.
Acting is in Creslyn’s blood, and she’s focused her sights on one thing: landing the role of a lifetime. But she’s always been told that everything comes at a cost. The casting director names his when he tells her she must make him believe she can surrender to a harem of men, or he can’t justify giving her the lead role.
Determined to prove him wrong and show him she can tap into a passion that deep, Creslyn throws herself into rehearsals. But the fine line between script and reality soon starts to blur, leading her and three men into unchartered territory. The only problem? She has a jealous roommate, a disgruntled mother, and a string of paparazzi hot on her trail, making Creslyn question the cost of everything.
In a world where some things are best kept secret, is the price of fame too high when it comes to the heart?
The Stars in Her Eyes is book one of the Love in LA Quartet and is a new adult, steamy contemporary romance reverse harem LOVE STORY that can be read as a stand-alone or as an introduction to the series. All the heat you’ve come to expect with a reverse harem, AND a storyline worthy of a contemporary romance love story. Finally, the best of both worlds!
EXCERPT:
Creslyn nodded her head. “I want this role so badly. More than any other role of my career. I thought I’d nailed the scene, I really did.”
Matías stood, walking over to where Creslyn and Knox stood. He lifted her chin, ran his hand up along her throat to behind her ear. Creslyn sighed, closing her eyes.
“Yes,” she heard Matías whisper. “Just for a moment, close your eyes. Feel the beat of Suri’s anguish rush through you. The man you thought you wanted was never yours to have. But the men who have stood by you, who’ve protected you, saved your life, killed for you . . . they want you. More than you could ever imagine. They want you so badly they would share you rather than lose you. Feel that passion in your chest,” he said, his fingers resting on her sternum. He thumped lightly, each pass of his fingers sending shivers down her body. Creslyn was enraptured by the hypnotic cadence of his voice, the strength in his touch.
Quietly, River must’ve joined them. Creslyn’s eyes were still closed, but she could feel him close in the ranks, complete the circle. “You are Suri. You were made to lead. You have fought your whole life to get where you are right this moment. Can you surrender? Can you give in and really understand the depths of her passion? Her strength? When Suri gives in, it is no act of weakness. It is a claiming of love—in the form that feels right to her. With the men she loves.”
Creslyn nodded, her eyes still closed.
She could feel Knox come up behind her, lifting her hair from her neck. His breath was warm as he leaned down, placed his lips impossibly close to her ear. For a minute, Creslyn thought he was going to kiss her. “What is it you want from us?” he whispered. “How can we serve you, the woman who will lead the territories back to freedom? The woman who has captured our hearts since the first moment we laid eyes on her.” He was mixing his own words with the words from the script, confusing her, blurring the lines even further.
Erotic images from her dreams the night before flooded her mind. She had imagined just this—being surrounded by these three men. Their hands on her body, unable to distinguish where one person started and the other ended. Fluid beauty as they merged their bodies and souls together. Pleasing each other. Taking what was their right, after overcoming so many obstacles. She could feel Suri’s energy and strength coursing through her, muddling which feelings were her own and which belonged to the woman she was portraying.
They ran through the main scene in its entirety over and over again, Creslyn getting more and more daring with her glances and touches with each pass through. She didn’t dare initiate the real intimacy of the scene though, afraid she wouldn’t be able to stop or discern where the scene ended and where her true longings began. But the scene was still struggling, falling just short after so many attempts, and even a fourth bottle of wine. Creslyn knew she should’ve stopped at three glasses. But it made her feel so free, so relaxed. She was cocooned by these men—these strangers, really—trying to convey her love for them, her lust, her heart. The way she imagined Suri would feel.
“Perhaps this would help?” Knox suggested, taking Creslyn by surprise as he spun her around into his arms after their last run-through. “The scene calls for physical intimacy and kissing, and yet you don’t know us yet in that way. Maybe if you did, the intimacy would come faster and be more authentic?”
Creslyn bit her lip as she looked up into the dark blue depths of his eyes. She wanted to trust him and dive in, get lost in his eyes, his touch, his mouth. God, his mouth! The beard he was sporting brought shivers to Creslyn’s thighs as she imagined not just feeling the brush of his beard along the soft skin of her cheek, but in other places, as well.
“I’m scared,” Creslyn admitted.
Matías came up behind her, slid the strap of her tank top off her shoulder as he brushed his lips lightly over her skin. “It’s just a kiss, Creslyn. It doesn’t have to be anything more than you’re comfortable with.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of,” she whispered. “I’m already too comfortable.”
It was as if a racing flag had been dropped. She felt Matías’s warm lips press against her shoulder at the same moment as Knox brought his lips to hers. She didn’t have time to think whether this was right or not. She simply surrendered. To the heat of their mouths, and to the passion she was so desperately trying to tap into in order to master this role. It was for the role, right?
Immersion. That’s all this was. Immersion acting.
Just one kiss.
