What’s your name and what genre would you consider your books to be?

Yo! I’m J.Z. Foster and I write Urban Fantasy and Horror, though a lot of my books tend to be Dark Comedy.

How did you get interested in writing this particular genre (historical novels, mysteries, sci-fi, children’s books, etc.)?

I’ve always been interested in monsters, the supernatural and conflict, so I’m naturally drawn to Urban Fantasy and Horror—and of course, my life tends to be a bit ridiculous, with lots of unbelievable but real life stories happening to me, that when I tell them to other people they are often skeptical. I try to write my stories like that, when you imagine the character retelling it to someone else, it’s always ridiculous and other characters will be skeptical.

What kind of research did you do for this book?

Well, being mystical and magical, I get to make up all the rules, ha! Although, I do research history and the occult along with locations.

Can you tell me about your Series?

The series I am currently writing, Witch Hunter, is a Dark Comedy set around a character that trained to become a witch hunter while not believing in witches. Does that sound unbelievable? It was for him!

What’s a typical working day like for you? When and where do you write? Do you set a daily writing goal?

It’s a balancing act. I always seem to have a million things to do. I have a baby, a job, then interacting with fans, answering emails, writing, and doing a lot of other things! I aim for 2k-3k words a day—and sometimes it’s hard getting it done!

Do you have a new book in the making and if so, what’s the name of your upcoming book?

I do! Witch Hunter 2: Gods and Monsters

What’s the best thing about being an author?

I love seeing the final product and hearing what fans think. It’s great to see my book go out and get read!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully with 30 books out!

Have you always liked to write?

I have, though I have ‘written’ in different forms. Sometimes as a gamer like Dungeons and Dragons where I ran it for other players, now I’m just a straight author.

What writing advice do you have for aspiring authors?

Stick your nose down and grind! People want to write but they don’t want to put the hours in—that’s the only way you can get it done!

Where can your fans find you and follow??

They can follow me on the following sites…
