CRASHING TIDES by Casey Peeler

cover reveal.JPG

You can predict the tides but not the changes they make. Gunnison Del Valle was the current in the tide that was about to change my life.

Crash one we met.
Crash two we fell in love.
Crash three changed our perfectly planned lives forever.
Trailer

As we approach, I realize it’s a private celebration of some sort, and I pray we won’t be noticed.  As the music gets louder and the flame rises higher, we ease our way into the crowd and take a seat on a piece of driftwood facing each other.

As sparks fly into the night sky, I notice Marleigh watching them.

“What are you thinking about?”  I ask.

“Have you ever thought about what happens to those embers?”

“They burn out?”  I say unsure of where this is going.

“Yeah, but I can’t help but feel like that roaring fire when I’m with you.  You probably think I’m crazy since it’s only been a week,” she says while covering her face with her hands as if she’s embarrassed.

Taking her face in my hands, I raise her eyes to mine.  “Mar, I don’t think you’re crazy.  In fact, I feel the same way.”

“You do?”

“Yes, but we aren’t like the embers. When this week ends, it will be a beginning for us.”

“How can you say that?  You’re going to be like twenty hours away or somethin’.”

“More like nine, but who’s counting.” As a smile crosses her face, I’m happily caught off guard when she crashes her lips into mine.  Our kiss heats up like the fire beside us and my heart soars like the sparks into the sky.

Casey Peeler grew up in North Carolina and still lives there with her husband and daughter.

Growing up Casey wasn’t an avid reader or writer, but after reading Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston during her senior year of high school, and multiple Nicholas Sparks’ novels, she found a hidden love and appreciation for reading.  That love ignited the passion for writing several years later, and her writing style combines real life scenarios with morals and values teenagers need in their daily lives.

When Casey isn’t writing, you can find her near a body of water listening to country music with a cold beverage and a great book.

Synopsis

No ties.
No expectations.
No risks.

Antonio Giovanni, a fifth-generation winemaker in the rolling hills of Tuscany, is the epitome of temptation. Tall, dark, and handsome with an accent sexy enough to leave a trail of women’s panties in his wake. The man wears charisma like a fine silk suit…flawless and molded to perfection in all the right places, leaving just enough mystery to make you wonder what lies beneath the faultless exterior.

Hope Tidwell, a world-renowned sommelier, is a strong independent woman who fights to have control over every aspect of her life. She makes her own money, her own decisions, her own happiness, and her own mistakes. Her existence doesn’t need to be validated by a man; she refuses to ask for anything except an orgasm, and even those she can manage on her own.

Relationships for most people are as natural as breathing. However, Hope and Antonio are two players who master the art of seduction and the fear of emotional intimacy. When tragedy strikes close to her heart, Hope is fated to do the one thing that terrifies her most.

Destiny reveals the biggest gifts often require the greatest sacrifices.

Synopsis: It has only been a few months since humanity has found out about the shifters that live in their midst. When the New Alliance leadership asks Eric King to join Alpha Squad, a joint taskforce supposed to promote cooperation between the shifters and human authorities, his loyalty to the cause doesn’t give him any choice but to agree. But is the squad actually supposed to be relevant, or is it just an eyewash, set up by the new Secretary for Shifter Affairs to make himself look good? And how is he going to concentrate on his training, when his inner bear is insisting that the squad leader is his true mate?

Major Janine Williams is not at all pleased when she is ordered to set up Alpha Squad. The initiative is just a gimmick, meant to pacify the shifter community, plus none of her male colleagues had wanted the job. But when she starts getting to know her team, especially tough East London bear shifter, Eric, she starts to wonder if perhaps it will be possible to make this task force a success, so long as everyone works together. And so long as she can manage to keep her relationship with Eric strictly professional…

EXCERPT

Eric took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He should have just stayed behind at that service station, perhaps tried to strike up more of a conversation with the mysterious woman who had caught his eye there. Or ideally, he should have risked Henry’s disapproval and refused to join the task force. Anything was better than this.

Back to the mystery woman. And what a woman she was. A regal beauty, with a voice that had set his heart alight. His inner bear had tried its best to claw to the surface; he’d hardly been able to control the urge to shift right there in front of her.

How would she have reacted if she’d seen his true form? Things had changed since the New Alliance’s little stunt, coming out to the entire world media, but they hadn’t changed that much for everyone. Humans were still apprehensive, and why wouldn’t they be? Most of their kind were pretty damn scary looking.

Would she have screamed and run away? Or would she have been intrigued?

He would never find out of course, because he’d let that opportunity pass him by when Adam had dragged him back to the restaurant for lunch.

Where was she now? And was she thinking about their little encounter as much as he was?

So many questions he’d never get the answer to…

Instead, he was stuck here in this decrepit old building with a bunch of people, none of whom seemed to want to be here. Except Blackwood the wolf, maybe. He had seemed like the most cheerful person here after Adam.

The sound of the door disturbed his gloomy thoughts, but he tried to ignore the intrusion.

“Attention!” Private Callahan’s voice filled the dorm.

Eric opened his eyes and sat up straight on his bed. The top of his head almost touched the springs underneath Adam’s mattress above.

The private stepped aside and another woman marched into the room.

Was he still daydreaming? He could not believe who had entered—the woman he’d just been fantasizing about.

“Major Williams would like to say a few words,” Private Callahan said.

Major Williams. Eric was speechless. He had expected a grey-haired man, gruff like the SAS guy across the room, but perhaps more polished. Their commander was a woman. His woman.

Major Williams scanned the room, slowly, pausing on each of the other trainees for a moment, then moving on to the next. Until she spotted Eric. She looked away instantly. Of course, she’d recognized him as well, and she did not look pleased to find him here.

“I am Major Janine Williams, your team leader. Welcome and thank you for joining Alpha Squad. Starting tomorrow, I will conduct your training, evaluate you, and report on the progress of this task force with the relevant higher authorities. The first phase of training starts in the morning and will last two weeks, at the end of which you will all be graded on various aspects of your performance. Anyone who is deemed unfit to continue will be asked to leave at that point, before phase two begins. Any questions?”

Questions? Eric had so many of those. He did not speak, though.

“What do you mean, unfit? I was told I was being transferred here permanently,” Ben, the younger of the two humans complained.

“You shall address me as Major Williams or Ma’am, first of all. Secondly, this task force is not a joke. Only those who are worthy will make the cut.” The major glared at him from across the room. Eric couldn’t help but be impressed by her show of authority.

Cooper folded his arms and pressed his lips together.

“Do you understand? What’s your name?”

“Ben Cooper, Ma’am. Yes, I understand.”

Eric had trouble suppressing a smile. She wasn’t going to take any crap from anyone, that much was obvious. It would only be a matter of time before Adam and the major would clash similarly. Amusingly, he found himself rooting not for his brother, but for the woman. Training under her command could get interesting.

She glanced at him for a split second, during which he did his best to hide his reaction. He would play along, fall in line, and do his best to fit into the squad. He owed it to Henry, but that was not the only reason. Fate had handed him a second chance after he recklessly failed to get her details earlier today. No matter what, Eric was not going to waste the opportunity. He’d prove his worth to her one way or another before training was over.

“All right then, at ease, everyone,” the major said, “You have a big day ahead of you and I suggest you take rest.”

Eric nodded, mostly to himself, and lay back on his cot again. Perhaps this whole Alpha Squad nonsense had a couple of silver linings after all.

There is a beauty in every sunrise.

But this morning, it holds no sway.

In my arms is the sun, the moon and the stars.

“Breathe, babygirl.”  I stroke her slowly as her body shakes and keens under me.

The bliss that engulfs me when she cums is better than any orgasm I’ve ever had for myself.  She is my muse.  Her pleasure is mine in more ways than I can explain.

Her inner muscles undulate and clamp down on me, my balls heavy with the cum that will only ever be hers.  I’ll never waste a drop.  It will be on her, in her or swallowed by her.

Her eyes roll white as the last of her climax pushes me to my own edge and I cum hard.  I think every orgasm with her is the best I’ve ever had, and yet somehow she tops each one with the next.

We’ve been at it all night.  She passed out once when I ate her for a marathon session, and I lost count of how many times she came.  I sucked and swallowed every drop and kept going, pushing her for more.

“Fuck.”  It’s all I can say as I collapse on her back.  Fucking her doggy style set me so deep, I want to plug her up and keep my cum inside her even though I now know my seed is rooted in her belly.

“Thorne…”  My name on her lips as she melts into the bed, spent because of the pleasure I’ve given her, is the pinnacle moment of my life.

“Yeah, baby.”  I’m breathing hard myself, the cardio workout she’s just given me will set me up for the week.

Looking down, golden orange sunlight is striped across her body as it streams through the blinds on the window from the ocean side of the room.

“How do you do that, Thorne?  Just when I think I can’t cum anymore, you make me do it again.  I’m glad my dad has an extra wheelchair, because you will be pushing me around in it today and explaining to him why that is.”

We both laugh as I retreat from her wet heaven and settle her next to me  Her thighs are quivering and soaked down to her knees from her own sweet juice and my cum.  And it’s beautiful.

I kiss her neck and feel her soften as I pull her back into my body, wishing we could stay like this forever.

Synopsis

Chelsea
I’ve always loved those books where the younger sister falls for her older brother’s friend. Those stories have played a key role in my fantasies since my divorce six years ago. Unfortunately, I don’t have an older brother. I have a younger brother, and his best friend, Luke, has always been more annoying than attractive. At least, that’s how I’d seen him in the past.

Since Luke has walked back into my life, he is far from the awkward teen he was the last time I saw him. He is a walking temptation that I know I should avoid. Luke, on the other hand, has no doubts about our future, a fact he’s made clear from the moment we reconnected. He’s everything I could want in a man, which leaves me wondering if it’s really his age that bothers me, or if it’s my trust issues.

Love Without Batteries Series
Following their disastrous marriages, Brook, Chelsea, and Delaney swore off men. After years of being on their own, these ladies have decided they want more. At the age of thirty, the three friends make a pact to re-enter the dating world. Little do they know they are all destined to find love in the arms of younger men.

***Each book in the Love Without Batteries series can be read as a standalone novel.

I’m going to show her how good it can be to get dirty…

Josephine

Moving to a small town for a new job was the only thing I should be focused on. But the first time I see Gabe, all of that goes out the window. He’s the owner of a garage in the town I now call home, and picturing the filthy things he’d do to me with those grease-stained hands fills my head.
The way he looks at me makes me feel like a woman, like he’s undressing me with his eyes … like he could teach me a thing or two about what a real man does with a woman in his bed.
I don’t care if being with him is fast or sudden. I want him to devour me.
Gabe

The first time I lay eyes on Josephine, I know she’ll be mine.
I won’t stop until she is.
I want to get my dirty hands all over her. I want to make that creamy pale skin of hers dark from grease, and red from holding onto her.
And I’ll do all of that, because there’s no way I’m backing off, not until I know I have her.

Warning: You like filthy and insta-love? Well, this story is full of it. If you’re into a hero who knows how to handle his woman, and a heroine who’s all about tall, dark, and dirty, you better hang on because this story will most definitely give you whiplash.

I left the bathroom, my focus on the ground, my thoughts on the crazy things I was feeling. I slammed right into someone and assumed it was Gabe from the way he cupped my arms and the low, masculine grunt that left him. But when I looked up, it was some random guy. He was young, maybe fresh out of high school. He smelled like middle school though, like that eighth grade Cool Water aroma that wasn’t bad but also brought back those awkward adolescent memories.
“Sorry,” he said, a grin already in place. “You new here? Just passing through?”
I didn’t want to be rude, but I also didn’t want to small talk with some random guy about whether or not I was new in town. It might have been some cheesy pickup line, or he could have been trying to genuinely be nice. Either way, I wasn’t in the right headspace for it.
He still had his hands on my arms, but before I could move away or even respond to his question, I saw Gabe step up behind him. Gabe was a whole head taller than this guy.
“You got somewhere else to be,” Gabe said, not phrasing it like a question.
The guy turned around, and the expression on his face told me he was annoyed. “Excuse me—” But that last word kind of hung in the air between them when he saw Gabe.
“I’m sure you got something else to do than speaking with Josephine,” Gabe said. He crossed his big arms, this easy but also serious expression hanging over him.
“Hey, Gabe,” the guy said.
Okay, they clearly knew each other.
“I didn’t know she was yours,” the guy said, holding up his hands. There was no weirdness between them. But there was this dominance coming from Gabe.
The guy ended up leaving, and I stood there wondering what in the hell had just happened.
“Ready?” Gabe said as if that little exchange wasn’t weird as hell. He went to leave, but I felt myself rooted to the spot.
“What was that?”
He stopped and looked over his shoulder. “What?” He turned fully around then.
“That…that…” I was at a loss for words right now. He’d been marking his territory. That’s what it had certainly seemed like. But that couldn’t be. I hardly knew him. And would a man be possessive of a woman he just met? He hadn’t even hit on me, and aside from a few looks I’d seen him throw my way, he’d seemed indifferent toward me.
He lifted a dark eyebrow. “That was what?”
I didn’t know, so instead of saying anything, I just opened and closed my mouth.
“Come on,” he said, his voice deep.
I found myself following him out of the diner, across the parking lot, and when I had my hand on the door handle, I finally found my voice.
“That was fucking ridiculous.” I surprised even myself with the words that spilled out of my mouth. Gabe had my door already opened, but he was on the driver’s side, waiting. When I spoke, he shut his door and walked around the truck to where I stood.
“You think so?”
I nodded, crossing my arms over my chest. “Yeah, I do. You don’t even know me.” he had the passenger side door closed a second later, and placed his hands on either side of me. He moved close, his big body pressed almost to mine. I had my hands hanging at my sides, my throat tight, my breath stalling. “What are you doing?” I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
“What does it look like I’m doing?” He glanced down at my mouth.
I swallowed the lump in my throat. “It looks like you’re invading my personal space.” And he was, really invading it, but the thing was I wanted more of it. I felt hot, a flush stealing over me, making my heart beat faster and my palms sweaty. He smelled so good too. Gabe smelled like a real man. All man.
“You don’t want me this close?” he asked, his voice low, the hint of a question hanging between us. “Or maybe you do like it.” He pressed his body flush with mine, hard to soft. He was all lines, masculine dips, sinew, and precise muscle.
“I don’t even know you,” I managed to say again, but it was clear, even to me, that not knowing him intimately didn’t mean a thing. I didn’t care that there were probably people staring at us, that we looked like a couple about to get it on.
God, I’d like to get it on.
“What do you want to know about me?” he asked, his focus on my eyes now. “I’ll tell you anything you want.”
I believed he would.
“For starters, I don’t know your last name.”
“Dressin,” he said without missing a beat.
“Or your age—”
“Thirty-five.” He fired that answer back at me, his gaze on my lips again. I couldn’t help but lick them. A guttural groan spilled from him, and I felt myself get wetter, felt my panties become soaked for this man.
When he slowly lifted his eyes to mine, he was heavy-lidded, his arousal clear. It was like our lust for one another bounced between us. I absorbed his, he absorbed mine, and together it was so intense we were saturated with it.
“What are you doing?” I asked again, but this time in a barely there whisper. He didn’t speak for a second, but the look he gave me screamed one word.
Mine.
