MY INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR CAMBRIA HEBERT!

What’s your name and what genre would you consider your books to be?

Hi! I’m Cambria Hebert and I write across several genres. All of them are romance, of course. Some of the genres I have written in are: college romance, new adult romance, sports romance, romantic suspense, Sci-fi, young adult, paranormal and male/male romance. I like to think, there is a little something for everyone in my collection of titles.

Can you tell me about your Series?

I have several series!

The Hashtag series – contemporary college romance (sports)

The Public Enemy series – college romance

The Take It Off series – romantic suspense

GearShark series – male/male sports romance

The BearPaw Resort series – romantic suspense

The Amnesia Duet- romantic suspense/mystery

The Heven and Hell series – young adult paranormal

Death Escorts series – paranormal

Do you have a favorite book out of this series?

My favorite book that I have written so far is #Junkie. Its my first male/male romance novel, and I love it. Trent and Drew are deep in my heart.

Where did you get the inspiration/idea for your series?

I get inspiration everywhere! From music, movies, people around me, places. Inspiration comes from everywhere.

Do you have a new book in the making and if so, what’s the name of your upcoming book?

Yes, I am currently working on the last book of the BearPaw Resort series. Stay tuned!

How important are character names to you in your books? Is there a special meaning to any of the names?

I think character names are important and came be really fun to come up with. Sometimes they are hard when a character doesn’t want to tell you who they are, lol! I named Nathan in TEXT after my son, Nathan. I also named Eddie in my Amnesia Duet after my father.

What is the hardest part of writing for you?

Getting started!

What do you think of book trailers? Do you have a trailer or do you intend to create one for your own book?

I love them! I have a book trailer I really love for my novel, #Nerd. It’s a live action book trailer, which was produced by Timid Monster and has live actors and a script! It was really fun to have done.

What’s the best thing about being an author?

I can work from home in my pajamas and I don’t have to drive into an office!

Have you always liked to write?

Yes! I always have loved writing and reading!

Do you read reviews of your book(s)? Do you respond to them, good or bad? How do you deal with the bad?

I don’t read my reviews. I learned a long time ago that those are for readers and not me.

What is your least favourite part of the writing / publishing process?

Getting a brand new paperback in the mail. Its always a rush to see something in physical form that I created.

What are you working on now?

The last book in The BearPaw Resort series.

Why did you choose to write in your genre? If you write in more than one, how do you balance them?

I write what inspires me. What the characters in my head tell me. I don’t try to stick with just one thing, because for me that would be boring.

Of all the characters you have created, which is your favourite and why?

Trent Mask. He is my favorite of everyone I created. He’s from the Hashtag and GearShark series. I love him because he’s very deep and strong, but he’s also vulnerable and when he loves its with everything in him.

Does writing energize or exhaust you?

Most of the time it exhausts me. Lol.

Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?

I try to write what’s in my head. I try to stay loyal to my characters and the stories they want to tell. I do, of course, try to be original as well.
