MY INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR CLARISSA WILD🦋
What’s your name and what genre would you consider your books to be?
I’m Clarissa Wild and my genre is mostly dark romance, but I also dab into contemporary romance every now and then. 😉
Tell me about your book. How did you come up with that (story, angle, idea)?
I usually get my ideas from music & movies, strangely enough 😛
How did you get interested in writing this particular genre (historical novels, mysteries, sci-fi, children’s books, etc.)?
I’ve actually been writing for a very long time, but I only started in the Dark Romance genre with Mr. X. Once I wrote that, I was instantly hooked. What can I say? I just love bad guys.
Can you tell me about your Series?
Sure, I have a bunch of them. Delirious Series is a very dark tale about a girl with a mental illness. Then we’ve got the Indecent Games Series, which is just all kinds of fucked up 😉 I also have CAGED, which is also getting its own series (with every book featuring a different character). Lastly, you may also find that most of my standalones are set in the same world (Mr. X, Killer & Stalker, Twenty-One, and Viktor), so you could say that’s a sort of semi-series LOL 😉
Do you have a favorite book out of this series?
My favorite book so far is either Mr. X or CAGED. I can’t pick, I love them both too much.
What’s a typical working day like for you? When and where do you write? Do you set a daily writing goal?
Basically, I write about 3/4 hours a day, depending on how much I can get done. It depends on the flow. The rest of my time is spent on marketing & editing & social media etc. 🙂 And yes, I do set a goal, the minimum is 2000 words.
Do you have a new book in the making and if so, what’s the name of your upcoming book?
Yup! The next book I’m writing is LOCKED, which features Cage’s brother. 😉 So make sure to add it to your TBR: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36365512-locked
How important are character names to you in your books? Is there a special meaning to any of the names?
Not really 😛 I just pick based on what I feel fits the character best.
Is there a genre that you’ve been wanting to experiment with?
Not a particular genre, but mostly tropes 😛 The ones I’m most interested in right now is breeding and MFM.
What is the hardest part of writing for you?
The last words. Like seriously, I never know what they should be 😛
What do you think of book trailers? Do you have a trailer or do you intend to create one for your own book?
I love trailers! I make them myself. I always use them for promotions and for getting fans hyped up. I have a lot of them. You can see them all on my Youtube channel. Make sure to check out the one for CAGED, because it’s super hot. 😉
What do you consider to be your best accomplishment?
It’s a tough pick. Either making the USAT on my own or that one time I hit the NYT with a boxed set with several other authors. 😀 It’s a tie!
What’s the best thing about being an author?
Being able to make a living with writing, which has always been my number one goal in life. To be an author was always my dream, and it came true. ❤
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Still writing 😛 Not a quiter!
Have you always liked to write?
Yes, I’ve been writing since I was little. I wrote my first little booklet when I was 6, my mom taped them together into a small book. 😀 I haven’t stopped since LOL
What writing advice do you have for aspiring authors?
Never give up! You will get there, just keep working on your craft. 😉
If you didn’t like writing books, or weren’t any good at it, what would you like to do for a living?
I’d most likely be a social media manager / marketeer 😛 Because that’s what I studied in.
Can you give us a few tasty morsels from your work-in-progress?
He nods again and points at the shower. “Go on then.”
“What? Now?” I say, looking down at myself. I’m still dressed. “My clothes. I don’t want them to get wet.”
He shrugs. “Then take them off.”
My lips part, but I have no idea how to respond.
All I can do is stare in amazement.
Did he actually just tell me to take off my clothes?
“What?” I repeat, for clarification.
“Take ‘em off.”
He’s serious. He’s dead serious, and that stern stare almost makes me want to do it.
But no, my morals have to get in the way again.
“No,” I say, folding my arms. “I’m not going nude …”
He frowns and shrugs again. “Suit yourself.”
He seems genuinely disappointed as he turns back around again. Like he’s upset that I won’t try his make-shift shower, even though I do. I just can’t … not when he’s watching.
“I’ll do it,” I say.
He stops in his tracks and glances over his shoulder, waiting for more.
“But you can’t watch,” I add.
His shoulders rise and fall and he gives me a quick nod. “I’ll be down there.” He points at the small lake. “If you need me.”
Wait, do I need him? No. Maybe.
Fuck. I don’t. I don’t know anything anymore.
I take a peek at the shower, but my eyes still revert back to him. And they stay there … glued … because he’s untying the wire around his waist.
And the banana leaves drop to the ground.
My eyes widen.
Butt-naked and in full glory.
Cheeks squeezed together, thighs muscular and thick.
And an enormous dick dangling between his legs.
I struggle to keep my tongue inside … struggle to even breathe properly.
Until he glances my way, of course.
In shock, I quickly dive behind the wood and grasp my heart. Like that will help me from getting a heart attack after being caught staring at a naked man.
And what a man he is … Wow. I still can’t get that image out of my mind, and I don’t even wanna try. All I can do is grin as I start undressing myself, wishing I wasn’t so easily persuaded to ogle a man because of his dick.
But Jesus Christ … that dick.
Do you have any favorite authors or favorite books?
Yes! Lauren DeStefano, her writing is like music. Also, Cynthia Hand, Rachel Van Dyken, Kitty Thomas, Pepper Winters, and Belle Aurora are one of my favorites.
Of all the characters you have created, which is your favourite and why?
Mr. X, hands down. I don’t know why 😛 He’s just an awesome motherfucker LMAO.
What is your writing Kryptonite?
Facebook and youtube 😛 I get distracted easily.
Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
I try to do both at the same time. 😉
If you were writing a book about your life, what would the title be?
I actually already did 😉 The title was RUIN (although it was only semi-real-life based).
